Registered Tax Agent
As one of our principal accountants, Sean focuses on accounting, advises on business strategies, helps businesses increase profit, and improves systems and growth.
Sean is part of a ‘new generation’ of accountants that embrace the use of technology to deliver better solutions. Sean also keynotes on the use of the latest accounting technology platforms, and how they are changing the face of the profession.
Sean grew up in Perth, before moving to Tasmania (north of Hobart) with his family when he was 15. The oldest of nine children, Sean had an unconventional childhood — not only was he from an extremely large family, but he was also home-schooled.
His education evidently worked. Sean was a high achiever — starting university at just 14 and was immediately drawn to finance and accountancy. Following a string of academic successes including topping the state in over half of his professional year subjects, Sean became a director of Collins SBA at the age of 24.
His success in managerial and client relationship roles, and drive for innovation, was recognised at the TCCI Business Leader awards where he was awarded Young Manager of the Year, and finalist in the Owner Manager of the Year category.
His views on technology in the accounting sphere, the impact it is having on the accounting profession, and the changing skill sets of the ‘new generation’ of accountants have been widely publicised across a range of national media. Recent examples include the AFR on technology investment and News Limited on changing skill sets of graduate accountants.
Outside the office Sean throws himself into numerous pursuits. In addition to his dedication to family and church, Sean’s interests lie in music, surfing, and most recently — flying — having completed his private pilot’s license and tasted the freedom of flight.
