Spotlight: Variety – the Children’s Charity, Tasmania
Variety – the Children’s Charity supports kids and families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with additional needs.
Their work allows kids to gain mobility, to get out and about in the community, to communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem.
In 2022, the Collins SBA team supported team members Bruno Palermo, Senior Adviser and Zahnia Kentish, Senior Paraplanner. Bruno is also Chair of Variety, Tasmania and Zahnia is Treasurer.
We coordinated a volunteer team to support Bruno, and his twin brother Davide to raise funds and get prepared for Tasbash 2022. We supported the Variety, Tasmania Spin Cycle event, invited family and friends to join us at Go-Karting and hosted a Quiz night where over 100 people attended and $3,400 was raised in one evening.
Collins SBA had the opportunity to join local businesses in Tasmania to fundraise and ensure Bruno and Davide’s car “Julia” was ready for TasBash 2022. Variety TasBash is Tasmania’s most iconic charity motoring event and the opportunity to explore Tassie’s beautiful towns and less travelled back roads.
This was Julia’s inaugural Variety TasBash appearance. She was very excited and loved driving all over the state to raise much needed funds for all Variety kids and families across Tasmania.
From Team Little Italy, thank you to everyone who supported us through our adventure. While we all had fun along the journey, the best thing is all the money raised from our generous sponsors and individual donors goes directly to Variety Tasmania - for kids in need. We are so pleased to announce that Team Little Italy raised over $26,000! This is an achievement we are so proud of!
